Jacket
The jacket covers your torso and protects your body against hits and broken blades.
Jackets are either front fastening or rear fastening, most people buy front fastening jackets as these are a lot easier to put on, front fastening zips are either right handed or left handed as the zip in on the non sword arm side of your body, so make sure you buy the correct one.
As club jackets are worn by many people they are usually back fastening so they can be used by right and left handers.
You must wear a jacket whenever you fence for your own safety, even in a coaching session.
